DEDICATED IN ALL WEATHERS!

After 3 long days of being at school last week whilst all the other schools were off, we proved that we were dedicated as all the teachers and pupils turned up ready to teach and learn. We outwitted the other schools by avoiding the weather and keeping our heads down, in the end we minimised our days off school too just 2 days, were as many of the other schools had 3,4 or even 5 days off. But although we have had a long weekend, we are back, ready and willing to work to our full potential before the half term brings an end to the first term of 2009.

Snow!

I know many people want to go home because of the snow...but it isn't cold enough for us to be sent home, it's so stupid!!

Nearly every school is closed apart from ours and another 3-4 schools in Wiltshire! It's cold enough for penguins to be outside in our field!

So come on teachers, we know many of you want to be at home as much as us!

Prom Fayre 2009

On the 26th of January, Greendown played host to yet another great prom fayre. Many year 10s and 11s modelled amazing dresses, suits and a few boys even braved a kilt!

Nerves started to build as family and friends took their seats in the large atrium, which had been miraculously transformed into a catwalk for the models to strut their stuff down.

Hannah Gale started the show in a gorgeous purple dress. Many more dresses followed, from luscious teal to ruby red. The boys looked ready for the Oscars in their tuxedos and smart suits.

Carney Bonner and Jo Ridsdale showed their legs off in their kilts. Sashaying their way down the catwalk, they embraced the Scottish vibes by walking down to the Proclaimers.

Many stalls came to the event last Monday, from specialised chocolates to colour analysis.

The FairTrade cafe provided yummy snacks for the crowds to nibble on as the festivities went underway.

Overall the night was a success, drawing in more people than we had ever anticipated!
