Young Musician of the Year

On Thursday 19th March, Greendown hosted yet another successful music competition. Separated into two categories, Beginner and Advanced, pupils ranging from Year 7 to 11 gathered impatiently, waiting for the evening to get underway.
The drama studio had been transformed into the perfect place to perform music, with the trophies on full display to give each performer a taste of what they could win.

The evening went exceedingly well, with an interval after everyone had performed. After everyone had had a chance to mingle, they all took their seats to listen to a flute duet by Victoria Carless and Hannah Mitchell.

At the end of the evening, everyone participating was presented with a certificate and appropriate feedback was given.

The winners of the night were...
Joanna Gillingham for the Beginner category
Charlotte Soffe for the Advanced category.

Congratulations to everyone that took part in the event!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this event. It was a great showcase for your muscial talents and all the hard work and practice hours you have in - and it takes courage to get up in front of a crowd and perform. So congratulations to Joanna and Charlotte particuarly but well done to all of you for taking part. You were a credit to the school
