On Saturday Janine and I took 20 of our pupils to represent Swindon in the Wiltshire athletics trials. All of them competed well and did the school and Swindon proud. The best performances and qualifiers for the SW trials are written below. Success in the SW trials will see our pupils reach the national athletics finals.
Braedon Cleverly – 1st in Hurdles 12.7s (NEW SCHOOL RECORD), 2nd in Long Jump 4.30 (NEW SCHOOL RECORD) – SW trials
Jo Shepherd – 2nd in 800m, ran 2m06s – SW trials
Carney Bonner – 2nd High Jump (1m70cm) – SW trials (Equals school record)
Jess Nickels – 2nd High Jump (1m44cm) – SW trials
Nyle Clinton – 3rd 1500m (4m36s) – got qualifying time so should run at SW trials (NEW SCHOOL RECORD)
Josh Paradise – 3rd Triple Jump (reserve 10m45cm )
Elliot Maggs-Franklin – 3rd Long Jump (reserve 4m30cm)
Jamael Lewis – 3rd 100m (reserve 13.1s) – NEW SCHOOL RECORD
Jess Jenner – 3rd 100m (reserve 14.4s)
